Day 6: A love letter

Today's calendar reveals something I gave my loved one today. An envelope filled with little hand-written quotes about love, sealed with burning wax and a gentle kiss. I felt unable to find the right words myself so the famous writers of the world lent their wise words to me. And while the rest of the country celebrated the Independence Day, we celebrated how we got together under the falling snow exactly four years ago.

  1. Ihana idea!

Romantiikka kunniaan <3

  5. Beautiful ... Before the wedding, I wrote a letter to my husband. Very personal. Once a year, I decided to write to him and see how the time change. Words are a few things that will be after us.

  9. What a wonderful idea. I might even steal it!

You have nice handwriting. Mine just looks juvenile.

    1. Thanks so much! I've come to realize that handwriting depends a lot on the pen you're writing with. I prefer the old school ink pen, the result is always prettier than with a regular ballpoint pen or pencil. :)

  10. Pablo Neruda! An amazing poet from my country.

Anyway, I just found your blog like since... five days ago? & I'm in love with it.
I really like view casual pictures of different life styles, & yours is one of my favorites, because we have a lot in common!

    1. Thanks for the links, I'll have to take a closer look on these! I've heard Zola Jesus before but the other ones are new to me. The Chelsea Wolfe video looked very cool with the first glance!

  14. Itse tein pari vuotta sitten hiukan samanlaisen jutun avomiehelleni.

"My dearest friend, if you don't mind
I'd like to join you by your side
Where we can gaze into the stars
And sit together, now and forever
For it is plain as anyone can see
    We're simply meant to be"

Luultavasti arvaat, mistä se on :)

Itken aina tuossa loppukohtauksessa <3

  15. Such a loving and sweet idea. I wish you and your guy a very long life together filled with unrelenting love and happiness! Each anniversary my other half gives me a card with a poem he has written for me inside. Every year after I read it I can't help but smile from ear to ear :) ~♥~

  16. That's lovely! I did the same thing for my beloved for our last anniversary... Well, not an envelope filled with quotes, but a 'medieval' love letter, calligraphed, wax sealed... He loved it! :)
    Happy Anniversary, Darlings!

    1. Thanks so much! Your letter sounds so wonderful too, no surprise that he loved it! I've had that wax for a long time and this was the first time that it didn't work out as elegantly as I planned, the seal doesn't show as well as I thought it would. But the idea was the most important thing. :)

  18. What a lovely post. I like the last sentence especially.
I actually had a similar idea with an advent calender (I don't know if you know that tradition, but it's very common in Germany) for my beloved. I didn't take quotes from some writers but rather I wrote it by myself. Things one loves about that person. 24 of that kind.
By the way, you've got a nice handwriting. It suits you. :D
