Day 8: Dancing at the funeral party

Today's (or more like yesterday's at this point, as it's 2am.) calendar is a teeny bit overdue since I came home after midnight from a farewell party of two friends. The dresscode was funeral and you can imagine how difficult it was to decide what to wear! There's so many mourning hats, black pearls and dark gowns lurking in the closet that a roomful of people could've had their share, and some of the guests actually did borrow things. It was weird in a good way to see friends dressed up all in black, almost as if everyone had magically turned into goths for one evening, hehe.

Here's the outfit of the sorrowful evening, I'm back to black in extreme measures and played the grieving part of a black widow. Or a goth princess, like one of my friends put it.

mourning veil ~ vintage  /  dress ~ Tiia Vanhatapio  / gloves ~ second hand / hair accessories ~ miscellaneous
necklace ~ Back Street  /  spine heels ~ Arrogant Minnie

The funeral theme was appropriate since we have to let two of our lovelies go into other cities, derby leagues and new chapters of their lives. So no one died, except eras of some kind. I'm so happy for them both but parting always feels sad, so the the mourning veil was more than suitable. I'm going to miss you dearly, ladies. ♥

    1. Nah, it is a little bit more festive. It's not like I wear a mourning veil everyday, it's for special occasions only. ;)

    2. Thanks so much :) I'm not entirely sure where I bought them, but my guess is the Finnish store called Seppälä. But I'm sure you can find similar tights from eBay! I also wore another pair of tights underneath to keep me warm.

    1. Thank you very much Mariane! I wear these shoes whenever I feel like it, you don't necessarily need a special occasion. :)

    1. Kunhan ne tilaisuudet ei vaan ole oikeita hautajaisia. :( Mutta teemabileisiin käy kyllä ihanasti!
