Dismantled my dreams in a skeleton pile

There's a tiniest nature museum in a cellar near my old home town, and I thought some of you might enjoy a little peek inside! I shot these photos a good share of time ago and found them just now while browsing through files. I for one can't stop staring at those bone formations in all their delicacy and beauty! I just hope they all died natural deaths, although that's hardly the case.

There's a lot of taxidermy, domestic animal skulls, butterflies, moths and other critters and even fetus jars on those shelves and glass cabinets (or glass coffins). Captured under time and glass, never moving forward. I always get a baffling feeling of child-like wonder and sadness while visiting museums of natural history, like I don't wish to see these empty animal shells but can't stop looking at them either.

One corner holds a genuine human skeleton of a John Doe from WW2. A German soldier lost in battle, if I remember correctly. Some have insisted that the remains should be buried, but I think it's only fair to have human parts on display too, as we are not a separate thing from nature.

I think some kind of a "bones" or "museum" tag would be in place as there's so many posts here including those things. Hmmm, we'll see if that happens! The tagging system doesn't always work for me as I often forget to use it. Oh how I sometimes wish I was more organized.

Woods to Conjure

We took a walk in the nearby forest the other day. Treading through those paths is like walking down actual memory lanes, as I used to play there really often as a child and poured many good memories on those paths.

Here's what I was wearing.
My love said I reminded him of Hecate and I took that as a great compliment, hehe! Although I am lucky to have only one head instead of three. Couldn't get much sleep from all the chattering of three separate extroverted minds, now could I? Sometimes even this one feels like too much to handle!

The Ovate hoodie is possibly my most used garment of this year, it always makes me feel like a modern druidess! The gigantic hood is like a safe haven in the storms and glares of the world. The other parts of the outfit don't fall far from the tree, it seems like I live in these items most of the time. (Well, the earrings and the tunic at least.)

There was something strangely medieval in this look when I added them all in one, but I quite like it!

I love the stillness of nature when the frost creeps upon the leaves and branches, breath leaves your lungs in steaming clouds and cold pinches the insides of your veins. The feel of the frozen moss crunching beneath your feet invokes the same rapture as the noise of crackling ice when you tread on it. (In puddles, not in lakes.)

The joy of the first frost lasted only two days - today the ground has already been invaded by the cold, white light of virgin snow. Farewell, high heels and bare skin. Brrr, I sense some snow photos in the near future!

I feel the dark when I see you

Casual home outfit: knit & boots ~ mom's / leggings ~Black Milk

Hello! Sorry for my absence from the internet world, I got lost in the peace of my childhood home. I'm minding the house with my sweetheart as my parents are abroad, and to tell you the truth; this is the most relaxing type of vacation imaginable.

Floating around the house and garden in mom's knits, watching nostalgic animations from Disney to Duckula, eating the fruit of the land and just being, breathing, dreaming the days away. Doing everything that pleases at the moment, whether it's reading a passage from a book or painting, drinking red wine or even heating up the sauna in the middle of the night. I wonder if I'll ever return to the city! This small town has a different type of flow, a wonderfully desolate and stagnant one, that I'll be enjoying for at least the rest of the week.

Hope you are all well.

Birthday outfit

I'm so happy about last night! So relaxing to just to share the day with my beloved, without any fancy plans or schedules; just talking, watching movies and having a few drinks. We went out for a walk and some Chinese food before the sky went dark, and took these pics in front of an eerie old house near our place. It's quickly starting to get really cold outside, so it's almost the last call for pretty peeptoe heels before the ground gets swallowed up by frost. As much as I'd love to continue the high heeled season, I'm not complaining. I enjoy the chill, makes me feel more alive somehow.

PS. My love got us flight tickets to Berlin for my birthday present! It was a mutual plan though so I knew about it in advance. ;) So, if there are any Berlin dwellers (or other lovers of the city) among my readers that could give us some tips on where to go and what to see, I'd be really, really grateful! ♥

24

(today's face / birthday card made by my love, Frankenweenie movie was included. I love Mr.Whiskers!
today's shoe choice / one of my fav wines, also a gift)

I was born exactly 24 years ago in the middle of the night and a starry sky of the deepest black, I've been told. Another year has passed and I must admit that I've grown a lot during this one.  I wonder what this new age will bring on my way. Mostly positive things, I hope!

I love parties in general but prefer to spend my own birthdays in quiet, accompanied only by my love, some movies and red wine. I've had the most wonderful day and it seems it'll continue the same way, next stop is Sleepy Hollow!

PS.Happy World Animal Day to all animal lovers! ♥

The Man With the X-Ray Eyes

The best month of the year has finally arrived!
*throwing imaginary confetti in the air*

October, October, even the word echoes so nicely in the vocal cords!
The highway to All Hallows Eve, filled with fog and edged with grinning pumpkins.
As Halloween is drawing closer I might be sharing more spooky things here than usual. ;)

Garments of today include: a thrifted dress from the 40's (one of the best second hand finds in quite some time I must say! Flea markets never seize to amaze me), also a thrifted veil hat from the 40's (paid a total 0,50€ for it, mwahah), a rib cage bag from ReStyle and Minna Parikka heels. The cold winds are blowing from Siberia and so a jacket and extra stockings are essential additions while going out.

(I love the details in this dress!)

Today's inspiration was snapped from the local hospital. I paid a visit there a little while ago (nothing too serious) and just had to draw my phone out of the bag and take a few souvenir pics from their cabinets of medical history. Taking phone pics in public always makes me feel like such a hipster, but who cares really! A box filled with vintage glass eyes, x-ray photo from the 30's, medical bottles, x-ray manuals.. I don't know how anyone could resist this stuff.
