Today's calendar reveals another painted imaginary lady!
Created in a feverish flu during one or two autumn days. With acrylics, the medium that I used to disdain but now have grown quite fond of! Vibrant oil colours will always have my heart but acrylics are so fast and easy, it's tempting to choose them over the dizzy vapours of turpentine.
I call this paint formation by the name of "Doubt." There was a small glimpse of her in a former post and I was requested by a reader to make a proper post about her, so here she is. :) I wish I could show more sketches and art here, but I guess I'm still a bit shy about these sides of my imagination.
I'm not sure yet whether to put her up for sale or to give her to my historian brother,
who's an expert in World War II and all it's horrible details and ordeals.
I think he'd like this one!
Detail:
You are an excellent artist. I would love to see more of your work!
ReplyDeleteWow, I thank you deeply for such kind words. Thanks for the wide smile you put on my face with your comment! I'll try to post more of my work in the future :)
DeleteThat is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteTotally love it!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that! ^^
DeleteYou really should sell your stuff on Etsy. Love it!
ReplyDelete/Jenny
Thanks Jenny! I've actually been thinking about that for a while now, maybe I really should create an Etsy shop. :)
DeleteWow, your drawing style is incredible! :) It really inspires me to start drawing again too. I used to draw a lot but I've been totally out of inspiration for over a year now.
ReplyDeleteThanks so very much :) Each person has times when inspiration doesn't seem to bloom, but those times always pass. I hope your drawing inspirations come swooshing back to you!
DeleteJei, lisää näitä <3 Kauniit värit, i like :)
ReplyDeleteKiitos paljon! Voisihan näitä silloin tänne näytille putkautella, kunhan vaan muistaa unohtaa itsekritiikin. :)
DeleteOh I love it! It's definitely something I would hang on my wall! She's looking back into the fiery sky with quite a mischievous look on her face! I think she had a hand in causing that disaster! You're so talented, it really is a shame you don't sell on Etsy just like anonymous suggested, you could run limited prints of your work! I know people will buy it! I would! ~♥~
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! She still hangs on our wall since I haven't quite decided on her fate, we'll see where her path leads. My initial idea was that the lady truly is the cause / commander of the bombings, but is starting to doubt her part in it and whether war really justifies her actions. It's so much fun to hear how people interpret different paintings! There's never only one true answer.
DeleteAnd I'm so glad to hear that there's possible customers for my future Etsy shop! I've been thinking about it for a good while, maybe it'll come to life in the nearby future. We'll see. :)
I love it ! very sympathic !
ReplyDeleteand just to say, I love your idea of posting everyday in december.. I must say I adore coming on your blog, I find your pictures lovelies !

DeleteOi, nää sun maalaukset on niin vallan kauniita!
ReplyDeleteOli nyt pakko kommentoida ekaa kertaa, halusin vaan kauhiasti kertoa, että sun blogisi on aivan ihana. Välitän niiin harvoista blogeista, mut tää on aina semmonen, jota seurailen ihastuneena.

ReplyDeleteVoi miten ihana kuulla, kiitos hirmuisesti kehaisuista! Taulu on kyllä myynnissä vielä tällä hetkellä. :)
DeleteIt's wonderful. You really should consider selling your stuff, you're so talented. Although I do think this particular painting sounds like the perfect gift for your brother.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Rachel! I do sell my work but art sales are suffering truly hard times. But I'm thinking about selling prints too, they're more easily acquired. :)
DeleteYour artwork is amazing! Thanks for sharing!
