World Goth Day!

Night is closing in already so this comes a little late, but I hope all you darklings out there had a great World Goth Day! Has anyone of you crashed the goth cliche-o-meter today? I had a long study day in this class I'm attending, so I didn't have much time for anything too special. Just wore black lips while listening to 80's echoing classics in the evening light. Left the red wine sipping and reading Poe in candlelit rooms with fits of terrible existential agony for some other evening. ;)


And oh, I also made his card today! I've wanted to make a bat pop-up for a while and I think this prototype came out alright, at least the creature looks happy and cute. Hope you like it! ♥

      Thank you. :) I nicked the clouds and the background from the extra prints I did on my thesis pop-up project, I think they went well with the bat!

      This design is a little too tricky for an easy tutorial, and I'm not sure if I wish to reveal all my secrets, as they're a part of what I do for living. But maybe I could make a simple tutorial of some design, might be fun!

      Thank you Leeri! This bat is a little too complex to walk through in a few easy steps, and I don't want to reveal the magic on this one, sorry! But maybe I could do some sort of easy tutorial on some different design. :)

      Oh I want to! I just need to find a printing place that will print the paper I require, then it's a looot of cutting and glueing for me. :D But I'd love to sell my pop-ups, soon I hope!

      I get inspired by a lot of different things, so it's hard to say. Nature, the styles of other people, stories, art, anything. Sometimes I get episodes when nothing inspired me, I'm just recovering from one of those times and feel that right now, I get most inspired by dreamworlds, tarot, arabic-influenced ethereal music and very simple black forms.

      I was on a pretty intense entrepreneurship crash course! From the basics like ideas and planning all the way to the not-so-lovely-but-highly-essential bits like accounting, laws and taxes.

      Haha! I'm so accustomed to not being in school or classes anymore that I totally had a little similar school hungover after those long days. The good thing is though that I usually get energized by meeting new people, so it wasn't too hard after all. :)
